    Comments:

    1. Patient has chronic pain, usually go to see family doctor first, if not response from medication then refer you to see physical therapist. If not response, some self referred to see Chiropractor or have doctor refer you to see a neurologist or orthopedic doctor. If pain is your number one complain then a pain specialist will be referred to you finally. If still fail, some patients like to try acupuncture, give yourself a last door to try. Just like all kinds of medicine, some respond some not. Here, I want recall patients if you want to consider surgery, unless your have a dangerous signs like incontrollable bowel or urination, weakness or loss sensation of your extremities. The surgery is not a good option. If the case is not an urgent case, normally a 6 visits of acupuncture treatment is recommended. This is a non-intrusive approach, at least not make you feel worse. I have a patient who is 81 years old, her pain specialist told her, no more steroid injection could give her and she is not a candidate for surgery by her age concern. When she came to my clinic, she had a diffuse pain in her lumbar-sacrum area, hip and thigh, the pain scale is 10/10, 10 is the worst. After just 3 visits, her pain down to 5-7/10 and she could do more housework now.

    2. Why acupuncture could relieve pain? This is the questions, I have been asked most. If people understand why steroid injection could reduce pain, this is something, the different is acupuncture could induce the endorphin come out from your middle brain to the place you want which doing something as steroid but no limitation, no side effect, it is nature, truly from God.

    3. Do you know the value of acupuncture treatment? If you have the disc disorder toward to see a pain specialist, a typical treatment either for neck or low back, an initial visit epidural steroid injection is approx. $!,000.- plus MRI $1,000.-and if you have claustrophobia plus $1,500.- around for blood test, EKG, drug and an anesthetist will put you to sleep. Total will between $2,000.-to $3,500.-And how much paid for the acupuncture treatment, make a phone call, every one charge is different? But on average it will not higher than $100.- for the following visit. Most of the cases are needed up to 20 visits to get pain relived and stabilized. But, remembered, this is the nature way and no side effects. Despite, the cost of acupuncture treatment is so much less than the traditional approach and the effectiveness of the pain relieve in my opinion is about the same or better, however, our major insurance companies still not cover it. We need more congressmen to make legislation could cover it. This year my health insurance premiums increased 40%, I called to ask why? The representative told me because the past 3 years, the premium not adjust much which actually had double digits increased around 18% each year. Without competition, I don't believe the premiums could be real under control in the foreseeable future.

    4. Many foot pain patients couldn't relive from the podiatrist steroid injection or orthopaetic shoes or physical therapy but could quick relieve pain from us. We are not only could make the patients return to wear the lady's shoe but also could make them jogging again. The podiatrist warning was that you have to live with the pain, wear sport shoes only and never running or jogging in your life.

    5. Carpal Tunnel is the median nerve of the arm pinched by the inflammation or edema of the tissue result pressure in the wrist, normally less 5 needles for both wrist within 6 visits could fix the problem, very simple and curable.

    6. Whether TCM could treat spinal stenosis to avoid surgery? According to Dr. Liang Bo Gin using the special formula made by a senior herbalist Dr. Mon Chun Te for two months together with medical Tui-Na could enlarge the diameter of foramina on average to 3.8mm x 6.1mm by the age from 44-65. This conclusion was based on the 25 cases made by the 6th Hospital of Ji Nan University and also shows the recurrence of stenosis was less then other treatments. Patients who interest could set appointment to get help from me. Distant patients if interested to buy, please contact us through e-mail.
