Back Pain
"I am an eighty year-old male and I have stenosis in the lumbar area of my spine. I was operated on about eight years ago to correct the painful situation. The operation was a partial success. I was given pain medication to alleviate the daily pain in my back. I tried treatment from a chiropractor, with no relief. I tried all types of back exercises, including working out in a swimming pool, with no relief.
A friend of mine had a painful knee and was treated by Dr. Tao, with excellent results. She referred me to him for treatment. At the beginning, I was very skeptical of acupuncture, but after a few treatments by Dr. Tao, my back pain started to be relieved. After approximately 18 treatments, my back pain has nine-five percent disappeared. I used to awake in the middle of the night to take a pain pill. Now, I sleep through the whole night without pain. I recommend acupuncture to anyone who has any pain problems or any other medical problems.
Thank you, Dr. Tao"

"I have been diagnosed with herniated discs for 9 years. In addition
to herniated discs, I have sciatica on my legs left and right
side. This summer, I had intense nerve pain, running down my left
leg and across my back. Western pain medicine doesn't relieve
pain, so, I don't use it. Various holistic methods have been tried
such as Chiropractic care, neuromuscular therapy, physical therapy
and stretches. My last visit to my physician left me frustrated,
I called Dr. Tao and wanted to see if acupuncture is beneficial.
After the first treatment, my pain had decreased by 60-70%. I
was able to sleep, move and been proven effective. Acupuncture
has been proven effective for thousand years of years. I am thankful
I decided to pick up the phone and call."

"I
was troubled with low back pain/spinal stenosis, but my surgeon
would not operate, feeling it would be too traumatic at my age
(95). So I tried acupuncture and am very pleased with the results-pain
is at least 80% gone. I would try acupuncture again, if necessary."

"I'
am a 58 year old male, who was very active for my age until about
7 years ago when I started with low back pain. I had done the
gamut of orthopedic doctors, and physical therapy treatments which
helped but only for a brief time. In July 2006 I was diagnosed
with ¡°severe spinal stenosis.¡± A condition that only gets progressively
worse until surgery is generally the only remedy. I also had re-developed
bronchitis in my right shoulder (a condition I had treated with
physical therapy about 5 years ago). Not knowing where to turn
(I certainly did not want surgery), but I did want to get some
relief from the pain, so I started looking on the internet and
came upon Tao¡¯s Acupuncture & Herb Center.¡± After doing some
research, I decided that I was going to give acupuncture a try.
After
my first treatment with Dr. Tao, I noticed a tremendous relief
from the pain I had been suffering with for all these years, not
only in my lower back, but also in my shoulder. I would recommend
acupuncture to any one who is thinking of an alternative medicine
treatment.
Dr.
Tao is a very caring, compassionate and patient individual. I
do not know where I would be today if it were not for Dr. Tao
and his TCM and herb therapy. It works! Thank You Dr. Tao."

"I'm
29 years old, and hurt my back loading road cases into an 18 wheeler.
The injury occurred about a year ago, it started with soreness
pulling cramping and a shooting pain down the back of my leg especially
when I would stand up after sitting. the diagnosis was 2 large
herniated disks. I went to a chiropractor, a physical therapist,
3 surgeons and a pain management doctor. I had surgery about 9
months ago to take out a piece of one of my herniated disk. about
4 weeks after surgery I went for a second MRI which showed that
my disk re-herniated. Dr's told me to wait 6 months to a year.
if it didn't get better they would do disk replacement surgery.
I went to Tao. who said I would need 10-20 visits of acupuncture
and herbs to fix my herniated disk. I felt
better by the fourth or fifth visit. And relatively good by the
10th.
Thanks to Tao, I don't think I'll need surgery again."

"I
never truly understand the phrase "excruciating pain"
until I injured my back and experienced the effects of a herniated
disc, the MRI shows I have a large disc herniation in my right
L4-L5 & L5-S1. Physically, I suffered from intense hip and
leg pain in the middle of the night. I could not stand, walk,
sit or sleep without feeling some degree of pain.
Even though I was in a physical therapy program, I needed something
more to manage the pain. The
high doses of Ibuprofen I was taking gave me no lasting pain relief,
so I turned to acupuncture.
I felt the back and hip pain slowly melt away with each consecutive
acupuncture session. The acupuncture sessions were extremely relaxing
and Tao's bedside manner is calm and caring - the
perfect combination for someone in near-tears pain. With Traditional
Chinese Medicine my pain went away, stayed
away and I feel great!"

"I
am a 40 year old female, worked as a secretary for a disability
management company. I had a history of herniated disc, MRI shows
my right side has disc herination at L5-S1 with moderate stenosis
and degenerative arthritis. I took codeine and cortisone transiently
since 1998, but discontinued it because I did not want to take
systemic medications. In January, 2004 I was jogging on a new
treadmill and developed lumbosacral pain again. My pain feels
worse when I changed positions, or bending to sit down. I received
four week of rehabilitation and chiropractic care with no relief.
I took generic drug Relafen twice a day with only slight relief.
However, after the first acupuncture treatment with herbal patch
and herbal medicine from Dr. Tao, I had dramatic relief in the
next day. I can not believe this is true and highly recommend
to anyone who has the pain problem."

"I
am 29 years old female patient, came to Dr. Tao to treat my severe
low back pain. I even couldn't take MRI because the pain couldn't
let me lied down on table. After my pain much subsided by Dr.Tao's
great help, I retook MRI shows I had large disc herination and
central disc protrusion at L5-S1 with annular bulge at L3-L4.
I came to Chiropractor not get help and I couldn't take my orthopedic
doctor's prescribed pain medicine because I need breastfeeding
to my 10 weeks old baby.
I started with treatments 3 times per week for acupuncture only
but no herbs because I need breastfeeding my baby and concern
to take any risks. Within 4 weeks from what his acupuncture treatments,
my pain degree relived from 8-9/10 to 1-2/10 only. I was able
to sleep through the night, returned daily activity including
lifting my son from any position and even evening walks. Acupuncture
has been a very good thing."

"I
am a 70-year-old
retired RN worked for Hospital-critical care units, my previous
job caused my scoliosis pain worse from the lifting and turning
patients, pushing stretchers to surgical floors plus pushing beds
with the patient and lots of euipment to critical care units.
My Chiropractor found I have subluxation at T10, C1, L5, the sacrum
and hip, however, his treatment failed and my back pain increased,
the pain medication Tylenol took in daily basis and physical therapy
ordered by my orthopedist also not help me.
Finally, I called Dr.Tao to get acupuncture treatment and herbal
therapy. After I finished one cycle-10 visits treatment, I can
say I am completely feel free of pain. I have a sense of "well
being", as though I was "born again" to a better
life. Thank you Dr. Tao!"

"I
am a 72 years old man and my low back pain was excruciating for
over 15 years, I suffered with degenerative arthritis and spinal
stenosis. It is because of it that I had to give up golfing. Exercise
and pain meds didn't help. I was resigned to the fact that I was
to live in pain for the rest of my life. In June of 2004, I visited
Dr. Tao for acupuncture and herbs treatment. Following treatment,
I was relieved of pain, and I am contemplating hitting the links
once again."

"On
March 15,2000, I was hit at a red light and pushed me on the passenger
side to the red light which fall on my car. I was found my car
floor and admitted overnight by the Trauma service at Lehigh valley
Hospital. I was then referred by my family Doctor to see physical
therapy three times a week for seven weeks which was not helpful.
Then I referred by my family Doctor again to see a pain specialist
who ordered an MRI, which revealed a fracture at the 9th thoracic
veterbra. I was given two epidural injections and told that I
would have to live with this pain. In addition this, I also have
pain in my right side of my back and thorax in the muscle with
a reconstructed foot required for my fractured foot. In the past,
I have to wear a back, neck, and foot brace and unable to be upright
for more than two hours or I have to lie down to reduce the pain.
After I treated by Dr. Tao with acupuncture, magnetic cupping
and Chinese herbs, my pain level from 8 of 10 down to wear off
for 4-5 days which let me could deal with pain without pain medication
and zoloft , Xanax as well. I do appreciate Dr. Tao's help."

"This
letter is in reference to my visit to your office on May 24,2001.
The service provided helped me incredibly, you gave me acupuncture
to the neck, upper back, and lower back areas. The pain I experience
is due to an auto injury from December 11, 1999. The single visit
with you changed my back pain for months so I am convinced of
the success and necessity."

"I
injured my back in 15 years ago and required surgery to remove
a cervical disc. Since then, my spine has further deteriorated
due to spinal stenosis from c-1 to c-7. This condition resulted
my mobility in my neck and painful back spasms and numbness in
my extremities which also caused sleep loss and inability to many
simple tasks, particular move my arm above shoulder.
The
spinal epidurals, pain and antispasmodic medications made my condition
tolerable, nothing seems to give me relief. My neurololgist Dr.
Lorraine Spikol, suggested try acupuncture and referred me to
see Dr. Tao. After four weeks of ten treatments, the painful spasms
and numbness are gone. I began to notice marked improvement by
my third visit. I could sleep to eight hours a night and planning
my first fly fishing trip this year. Thank you, Dr. Tao."

"I
am a 48 years female, suffered from the multiple pain as the
subject about three years ago. Those injuries caused by using
heavy wheelbarrows of mulch. I have been treated by Doctors under
different medication, however, the Naprosyn can cause me nausea
and Daypro can make me bruising. I also took the Vioxx for six
months and it has not been helpful. I also see a massage therapist,
a myotherapist and chiropractor for musculoskeletal problems with
little or no help.
Finally,
thru the Dr. Conrad Weiser recommended me to try of acupuncture,
I have been seen Dr. Tao, initially to have a three times a week
then reduced to once a week, I have no longer migrates my low
back pain to my lower leg and elbow pain with the shoulder pain
relieved as well."

"I
am a 35 year old female, was injuried in a motor vehicle accident
on mother's day in May, 1999. I was hit while sittiing behind
the wheel of a vintage car. I was lunged forward into the wheel
with damage to my ribs and
shoulder and some low back pain initially which became worse.
I took x-rays and MRI and found have damage at
L5 to S1. At first, I tried Vioxx and Naprosyn with poor results
in the past and Celebrax with GI symptoms. Physical therapy was
tried and allowed me to bend and move. Prior to that, I even couldn't
sit, stand or lie without
crying. I have seen Dr. James Weis who felt that I have a degerative
disc disease and referred to see Dr. Tao for acupuncture. After
the second treatment, I already felt that I had the best relief
for two years. After the four visits, I already felt that I have
on nothing for pain now. Even the projected course of treatment
is still ongoing, but I have no worry about my back problem any
more!"

am a 59 year old former farmer. In the early 1970's , I fell
off a ladder and injured a disc. An MRI shows a narrowing of the
canal and spinal stenosis, involving the L4 to L5 and L5 to S1.
I then developed a chronic back pain since after and my condition

"Thank
you! I suffered from severed back pain everyday for the last eight
years. After only one visit with you, I felt better than I have
in years. I had tried everything from seeing an orthopedist to
physical therapy to chiropractor care. Nothing worked-except acupuncture.
I am doing things I never thought I would do it again. Thank You!

"As
a person with a bad back pain on for the last 20 years, I have
experienced relief from constant pain that I never anticipated.
I have had MRI's, visited many chiropractors, and doctors have
treated me with shots and pills. All of these gave me temporary
relief. After 3 or 4 visits to Dr. Tao, I feel better than I have
in 15 years."
-Ed Lutteschmidt
"I
have had a severe back pain from a deteriorating disc for
the past 25 years or so. I was to the point where Chiropractors
weren't helping. I couldn't even get relief by lying down. I was
surprised that after one visit there was some relief. After 3
visits I was much better. The acupuncture and the herbs have helped
me get rid of that terrible pain in my back. I feel like doing
things around the house again. Acupuncture is better than the
pain pills and muscle relaxants I had taken in the past. I have
gotten 80-90% relief. I only wish more insurance companies would
see this and cover this. Thank you so much."

"After
a flare up of sarcoidosis in late fall 1998 cusing lung problems
and subsequently a heavy prescription of prednizone, it was the
acupuncture and herbs which cured my back pain and sciatica problems
and low energy caused by prednizone. Then to make bad year worse,
I contracted either rocky mountain spotted fever or ehrlichia
in May 1999. This eventually led to bell palsy on the right side
of my face. Having already been familiar with the healing power
of the acupuncture and herbs, I came to you as soon as I was physically
well enough to endure trip(9 days after the onset of bells palsy).
I had been told by my other doctors that hopefully the bells palsey
would go away in 3-5 months. To the amazement of the doctors,
after 6 treatments and 3 weeks from the onset, I was about 95-98%
better. Thanks again for your help."

"I am a 41 year old man was sustained an injury to
the low back on December 4, 1993 when I was lifting a compressed
gas cylinder which weighed 300 to 400 pounds with full. Afer taken
x-rays and MRI at hospital showed heriation of L4 to L5 with disc
bulging at S1. Since that time, I am unable to work. The neurosurgeon
Dr. has recommended laminectomy and decompression, however, the
Pennsylvania Manufacturer's Association is not approving the surgery
for a laminectomy and decompression and tried to give a numerous
medications but has poor relief and side effects. Dr. Tao's treatment
under the worker's compensation approved was given a significant
improvement which I could deal with pain better without narcotics,
I still could keep my daily life nornmal except to do the heavy
lift job again. My severe headache also relieved each time when
I had attacked, my gallbaldder symptom also much improved before
I could get an appointment from my doctor. Thanks again indeed
for your helpful."

"In April 1994, I suffered a severe stroke with left side
paralysis. I have even been given medication one chemical after
another. I came to Dr. Tao and within three treatments, my back
and neck were no longer in spasm and the pain was reduced in my
left shoulder. By the fourth treatment, my shoulder was free of
pain and my range of motion was resolved to normal..."
